Webb(Cinacalcet) is used to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism in dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease. It is also used to treat hypercalcemia (high levels of calcium in the blood) in patients with parathyroid cancer. This medicine belongs to a class of medications called calcimimetics. WebbSensipar® (cinacalcet) is indicated for the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism (HPT) in adult patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis. Sensipar® should not be used in patients with CKD who are not on dialysis because of an increased risk of low calcium levels. Please see Sensipar® full Prescribing Information. References: 1.
